Representatives of Turkey and Finland will return after a long hiatus. Young athletes will compete in 14 medal events in two age categories (2004-2006 and 2007-2008).

Among the stars of Belarusian rhythmic gymnastics who competed at the competitions are Anastasia Ivankova, Valeria Kurilskaya, Aliaksandra Narkevich, Anna Ryabtseva, Melitina Staniouta, Natalia Leshchik, Maria Kadobina, Arina Sharapa, Anastasiia Salos, Alina Harnasko, Katsiaryna Halkina and many others.

In 2018, the competitions marked the 30th anniversary of Marina Lobach's victory at the Olympic Games.

Last year's medalists Darya Tkacheva, Aryna Krasnarutskaya and Ksenia Steshyts performed well at their debut junior world championships.
